Nvidia is fighting off two threats
One honourable exception to the roster of tech billionaires standing behind Donald Trump at the president’s inauguration on January 20th was Jensen Huang, the chief executive of Nvidia. He took a quieter approach, meeting Mr Trump at the White House just over ten days later. Earlier that week his firm, the dominant supplier of artificial-intelligence (AI) chips, had lost $600bn in market value during a sell-off precipitated by the release of the latest AI models from DeepSeek, a Chinese firm. Mr Trump’s plans to respond to the upstart model-maker may have been as much on Mr Huang’s mind as DeepSeek…

Colleen Babcock, Rightmove’s property market expert said: “We expect a rush to complete close to March 31st as first-time buyers and home-movers try to avoid paying extra in tax. “Our numbers show how there is…

Robert Kiyosaki says incompetent leaders are pushing the world into recession
Rich Dad Poor Dad Author and investor Robert Kiyosaki has warned that economic mismanagement could push the world into recession as fears over the security of US gold reserves grow. Last week, President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly questioned whether the gold at Fort Knox is still intact. In a Monday X post, Kiyosaki called out global leaders for failing to manage inflation and the economy. The 77-year-old businessman warned that rising inflation rates could impact living standards for the worse. “WHAT is the DIFFERENCE between 2% INFLATION & 3% INFLATION? 50%,” Kiyosaki wrote. “Our leaders are…
The proportion of purchases to landlords dropped to 9.6% in January 2025, underlying how the market is becoming less attractive to investors. This is the first time the proportion has fallen below 10% since records began in 2009, and comes after the stamp duty surcharge was increased from 3% to 5% in the Autumn Budget. Landlords are also braced for the Renters’ Rights Bill, which is set to increase tenant protections and outlaw ‘no-fault’ Section 21 evictions. Aneisha Beveridge, head of research at Hamptons, said: “New purchases by landlords have been depressed by increases in stamp duty rates towards the…
